Symbols you may see

Stored readings and averages
The ExactFit 3 stores the latest 40 readings for each of two users, each saved automatically with systolic, diastolic, pulse, date and time. Press the M button to see the most recent reading (memory 01) with its date/time, irregular-heartbeat symbol and indicator arrow, and press again to step back; make sure the correct user (A or B) is selected first.
How to take a reading you can trust
- Sit with your back supported and feet flat, and rest for five minutes before you start.
- Cuff at heart level on bare skin, arm resting on a table — the same arm every time.
- Take two readings a minute apart and write both down; don't pick the one you prefer.
- Note the time and anything unusual — before or after medication, feeling unwell — next to the numbers.
Photographing this display for a scan
- Check the user switch before photographing so the A/B symbol in the picture matches the person whose log you are updating.
- The monitor turns itself off about a minute after a measurement - take the photo while the result is still up.
- Include the edges of the display so the indicator arrow and any irregular-heartbeat symbol are captured with the numbers.
- Photograph head-on; the LCD's contrast drops quickly when viewed from above or the side.
How do I copy older readings from the ExactFit 3 into my log?
Select the right user with the A/B switch, then press M: memory 01 is the most recent reading, and each press moves one reading further back, showing systolic, diastolic, pulse and the date and time it was taken. Copy them in date order, noting the user, and stop when readings repeat. With 40 slots per user, transfer readings at least monthly before the oldest are overwritten.
Do I need to record the coloured indicator arrow?
Record the numbers first - systolic, diastolic and pulse - and add the date, time and user. The arrow is Braun's own classification scale; you can note its position if your clinician asks, but it is not a measurement. Monitor2Log lets you photograph the display or your paper log and check every number before saving, so the digits are what gets stored, with the arrow visible in your photo if you want it.
What should I do when the ExactFit 3 shows an error code instead of a result?
Nothing goes in the log for that attempt. Codes such as E1, E2 or the EE series mean the measurement could not be completed; Braun's guidance is to re-check the cuff position, keep the tube unkinked and stay still, then press start again after a short rest. If the low-battery indicator is flashing, replace all four AA batteries and reset the date and time so stored readings carry the right timestamp.
