Symbols you may see

Stored readings and averages
The Evolv stores 100 measurements, but stored readings cannot be viewed on the monitor's own display - you review history in the OMRON connect app after transferring. For use without a smart device, OMRON's manual simply says to write down your SYS/DIA and pulse readings with the date and time to keep a record.
How to take a reading you can trust
- Sit with your back supported and feet flat, and rest for five minutes before you start.
- Cuff at heart level on bare skin, arm resting on a table — the same arm every time.
- Take two readings a minute apart and write both down; don't pick the one you prefer.
- Note the time and anything unusual — before or after medication, feeling unwell — next to the numbers.
Photographing this display for a scan
- The screen is on the cuff, on your arm - photograph it while the cuff is still fastened, before you take it off and the display turns off.
- Position the cuff so the display faces you (OMRON suggests slightly on the inside of the arm), then hold the phone level with it to avoid a skewed image.
- Keep the cuffed arm resting on the table and use your free hand for the phone; a steady arm gives a sharper picture than lifting it toward the camera.
- Include the small icons above and below the numbers so the irregular-heartbeat or movement symbol, if present, is captured too.
Can I see my previous readings on the Evolv's screen?
No. The Evolv keeps 100 measurements in memory, but the manual states stored readings cannot be viewed on the monitor's display; you need the OMRON connect app to see anything earlier than the reading just taken. If you prefer a written or app-independent record, note the systolic, diastolic and pulse values as soon as they appear, along with the date and time, before the monitor turns off.
What does the SYNC symbol mean and should I worry about it?
It is a reminder, not an error. SYNC appears when the monitor wants you to transfer readings to your smart device; once the 100-reading memory is full, the oldest reading is deleted as new ones are taken. If you also keep your own log, transfer or copy readings before that point so nothing is lost. Monitor2Log lets you photograph the cuff display or your paper log and check every number before saving, which is a handy backstop.
How do I record a reading when the Evolv shows 'Please remeasure'?
Don't record it - no valid result was produced. 'Please remeasure' appears with a symbol explaining why, typically movement during the measurement or a cuff problem. OMRON suggests waiting two to three minutes with the cuff off, then sitting still and measuring again. Log only the successful reading, and if it helps your doctor, add a short note that the first attempt had to be repeated.
